General Terms of Use for the Gourmet Service
1. Terms of Service
Effective as of January 25, 2024.
Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully before using the application.
These Terms of Service (“Terms of Service”) set out the conditions under which you may use the mobile application. Use of the App includes accessing, browsing, and registering to use it.
By using the App, you confirm that you accept and agree to comply with these Terms of Service. If you do not accept these Terms of Service, you may not use the App’s services.
We recommend keeping a copy of the Terms of Service for future reference.
2. Information about the Application
Gourmet is an application owned by the individual Nicolò Flavio Campaniolo, based in Turin (TO-10144), via Raffaele Piria 11.
Gourmet is an application that allows users to upload personal content and interact with content uploaded by other users through sharing and comments.
The Gourmet service is exclusively reserved for natural persons acting for purposes unrelated to commercial, business, artisanal, or professional activities, who are residents or domiciled in Italy.
To fully use the services offered by Gourmet, users must be at least 18 years old, have the legal capacity required by applicable laws, and hold a valid email address.

3. Services
Gourmet offers users the possibility to access the following Services:
i. View a database of content (Articles, Recipes, Reposts, Sellable Content) submitted by users of the application and organized by specific characteristics (type of dish, type of diet, location, difficulty, preparation time);
ii. Use the "Fridge Raid" feature, which allows users to enter a list of ingredients and receive a list of recipes containing those ingredients;
iii. Access the Gourmet Sous Chef, a virtual assistant powered by AI that helps users create, customize, and improve their recipes based on tastes, available ingredients, and dietary preferences;
iv. Search for a specific recipe or article by name or using appropriate filters;
v. View the Reposts of a recipe;
vi. View user notifications (likes, comments, tags, reposts);
vii. Create and manage the user's shopping list (Mobile App only);
viii. Use the user's personal space within their profile to view their own recipes or articles, add new recipes, articles or other content, create a new recipe collection, or add a Repost;
ix. Access useful information such as recipes added to the list (Mobile App only), unpublished saved content, archived content, article management, user profile settings, comment view, report access, and settings access;
x. Use the Settings to request a new ingredient not present in the database, contact the help center, manage notification settings, view licenses, terms and conditions, privacy policy, and log out;
xi. Purchase Gourmet Coins, a virtual currency that can be used to make donations or access advanced features of the Sous Chef service, enhancing the cooking experience with more detailed and personalized suggestions;
xii. Create original documents and content (text or video) using AI-supported tools, useful for generating articles, structured recipes, tutorials, or other informational materials;
xiii. Upload and publish paid content, both text and multimedia, which can be sold within the platform and purchased by other interested users;
xiv. Manage their own user balance directly through their personal account, with tracking of income from content sales and the possibility to request a payout once the minimum threshold is reached.
Terms and Conditions of Use for Firebase Services
By using the services offered by Firebase, the user agrees to the Terms and Conditions of Use, which include the secure management of their personal account and compliance with privacy regulations as outlined in our Privacy Policy. Firebase provides tools for application development and hosting, including databases, user authentication, and analytics, while ensuring the protection of intellectual property and disclaiming any liability for damages resulting from the use of the services, which are provided "as-is". The Terms may be modified at any time, with immediate effect upon publication on the official website.
Terms and Conditions of Use for OpenAI Services
By using OpenAI services, including language models and AI-based tools, the user agrees to the Terms and Conditions of Use. A personal account is required, and the user is responsible for its security and associated activities. OpenAI ensures the protection of personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy. All content and services are protected by intellectual property rights, and any unauthorized use is prohibited. OpenAI disclaims any liability for damages resulting from the use of the services, which are provided "as-is". We reserve the right to modify the Terms at any time, with immediate effect upon publication on our website.
Terms and Conditions of Use for PayPal Services
By using PayPal services, including online payments and digital financial tools, the user agrees to the Terms and Conditions of Use. A personal account is required, and the user is responsible for its security and associated activities. PayPal ensures the protection of personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy. All content and services are protected by intellectual property rights, and any unauthorized use is prohibited. PayPal disclaims any liability for damages resulting from the use of the services, which are provided "as-is". We reserve the right to modify the Terms at any time, with immediate effect upon publication on our website.
4. Important Information
Content is uploaded directly by users and may contain inaccuracies, unsafe methods, or incomplete information. Likewise, responses from the Sous Chef, while designed to be helpful, are generated automatically and may not always be correct or appropriate.
4.1 Important Information About Recipes
All content available in the App is provided solely for general informational purposes and is published by Users, not by Gourmet.
Gourmet does not screen or review recipes before they are published; some recipes, ingredients, tools, or cooking methods may be inappropriate, incorrect, or unsafe. Users are encouraged to report profiles, recipes, or content that are not appropriate for proper use of the App to the email address provided, so they can be promptly removed, and to contact the above-mentioned email address for any doubts about recipes or other App content.
As recipes are uploaded by amateur users and not by culinary professionals, reliance on the information in the App is the sole responsibility of the User.
Gourmet makes no representations, either explicit or implicit, regarding the accuracy, quality, safety, or suitability of the recipes uploaded to the App. Therefore, Users are advised to:
i. Verify any ingredients or culinary methods by referring to other sources;
ii. Follow any food safety warnings or bulletins issued by local authorities;
iii. Consult a professional chef when dealing with particularly complex preparations or those that could pose risks to the User’s health and safety.
4.2 Important Information About Articles
All articles in the App are provided solely for informational purposes and are published by Users, not by Gourmet. Gourmet does not pre-screen or verify the content of articles before publication; therefore, some articles may contain inaccurate, inappropriate, or misleading information. Users are encouraged to report unsuitable or inappropriate content to the email address service.assistance@gourmetcommunity.it so that it can be promptly reviewed or removed. Since the articles are published by amateur users and not by professionals in the field, reliance on the information provided is entirely at the User’s discretion and responsibility. Gourmet does not guarantee, either explicitly or implicitly, the accuracy, quality, or reliability of the published articles. Users are therefore advised to:
i. Verify the reported information by consulting reliable sources or experts in the field;
ii. Pay attention to any local regulations or warnings related to the topics covered;
iii. Consult qualified professionals for complex topics or those that may affect health, safety, or other sensitive areas.
4.3 Paid Content Provided by Users
Within the Gourmet platform, users may find paid content published directly by other Users, either in textual format (e.g., PDFs, eBooks, guides) or multimedia format (e.g., videos, tutorials, or courses). These contents are not created or reviewed by Gourmet, but are independently uploaded and managed by the Users themselves using the tools provided by the platform.
Some of this content may be marked as “protected”: in such cases, it cannot be downloaded or copied locally, but can only be accessed through the official Gourmet application, ensuring greater protection for the creators. Due to this protection, the content can no longer be modified by the author once published, in order to guarantee its integrity and consistency with what has been purchased by other Users.
Gourmet does not perform any prior editorial review, nor does it guarantee—explicitly or implicitly—the accuracy, reliability, quality, or legal compliance of paid content published by Users. Therefore, the purchase and use of such materials is entirely at the responsibility of the purchasing User.
We encourage Users to report any inappropriate, misleading, or potentially harmful content by writing to service.assistance@gourmetcommunity.it, so the support team can promptly review it.
In particular, we recommend that Users:
i. Carefully read the content description before making a purchase;
ii. Check, where possible, the author and any reviews associated with the content;
iii. Keep in mind that the content offered does not replace professional advice, especially in sensitive areas such as health, safety, or nutrition.
4.4 Content Review
All content published on the Gourmet platform – including recipes, articles, and paid materials – is subject to a review process by the Gourmet editorial team. This review has solely formal purposes and focuses on verifying compliance with stylistic criteria, readability, editorial organization, and adherence to the general platform guidelines.
The review does not in any way affect the substantive, technical, or creative content of the published material, nor does it assess its correctness, scientific accuracy, or completeness. This is to preserve and ensure, in compliance with applicable laws, full protection of copyright and freedom of expression for Users who actively contribute to the development of the community.
In light of the above, Gourmet assumes no responsibility, either direct or indirect, regarding the correctness, reliability, completeness, legality, or compliance of content published by Users with current regulations.
The User is therefore required to exercise independent and critical judgment when using the materials available on the platform, assessing their suitability and, where appropriate, consulting qualified sources or the opinion of competent professionals.
Gourmet reserves the right to remove, suspend, or restrict access to content that is found—even after publication—to be in conflict with the platform’s principles, applicable regulations, or reports received from the community. For communications and reports, you may contact the support service at service.assistance@gourmetcommunity.it.
4.5 Important Information about the Sous Chef
The responses provided by the Sous Chef in the App are for informational purposes only and are generated by artificial intelligence systems. Although the Sous Chef aims to offer accurate and useful suggestions, the information provided may contain errors, inaccuracies, or unsuitable guidance. Users are encouraged to report inappropriate or misleading responses to service.assistance@gourmetcommunity.it so they can be reviewed or corrected.
Since the Sous Chef is not a substitute for the advice of qualified experts, relying on its responses is entirely at the User’s own discretion and responsibility. Gourmet does not guarantee, either explicitly or implicitly, the accuracy, quality, or safety of the information provided. Users are therefore advised to:
i. Verify the responses by consulting reliable sources or qualified professionals;
ii. Pay attention to any relevant local warnings or regulations;
iii. Avoid using the Sous Chef's responses as the sole basis for decisions concerning health, safety, or other matters of particular importance.
5. User Registration and Profile Deletion
Access to Gourmet’s services and content is only possible after successful User registration.
Gourmet reserves the right to carry out necessary checks on the User’s registration and to suspend, withdraw, or terminate the account, account details, or password in the following cases:
i. The User does not exist as a natural person;
ii. The User does not have a valid email address;
iii. The User does not accept or violates these Terms of Service;
iv. The User is under 18 years of age;
v. The User poses actual or potential threats to the security of the App (cybersecurity) or engages in unwanted or dangerous behavior that disrupts a proper and peaceful use of the App by other Users.
Please note that personal information entered in the User's profile is to be treated as confidential. Users are therefore advised not to share such information with third parties.
The User accepts full responsibility for all activities that occur under their account.
6. Content Ownership
Gourmet does not claim ownership of recipes, photos, graphics, comments, data, information, essays, or other materials uploaded or published by Users on the platform.
The User’s rights to the uploaded content remain unchanged; therefore, the User is free to share their content with anyone, at any time.
7. Dispute Resolution
If you have a problem or dispute regarding Gourmet or our services, we first try to resolve it directly through discussion. Please send your request in writing, and we will try to reach a solution within 30 days.
If we cannot reach an agreement, we may resort to a recognized neutral mediator to help us find a fair resolution.
If it is still not possible to resolve the issue, any dispute will be exclusively handled by the Court of Turin. Gourmet may still request urgent measures to protect its rights.
These Terms are governed by Italian law.
8. User Granted Permissions and Code of Conduct
The User must grant certain permissions (“license”) to allow the App to provide the service. When the User shares, publishes, or uploads content covered by intellectual property rights (photos, recipe texts, etc.) in connection with or related to the service provided by the App, they grant a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to:
i. perform, display, translate, and create derivative works from their content (in compliance with the App’s settings and privacy policy). This license will terminate once the User’s content is deleted from the App’s system. The User may delete individual contents or all contents by deleting their account.
ii. The User authorizes Gourmet to display their username, profile picture, and information related to their interactions (likes, comments, tags, reposts) in connection with accounts, ads, offers, and other sponsored content they interact with and that are shown on the platform, without any compensation to the User.
iii. The User authorizes Gourmet to collect and use information acquired through the use of the App to personalize the experience and improve AI-based services, in order to offer more relevant suggestions and optimize interaction with the virtual Sous Chef. The User may, at any time, remove or request deletion of personal information used for these purposes through account settings.
iv. The User agrees that Gourmet may download and install service updates on their device.
v. The User may not use the identity of others or provide inaccurate information; the User is not required to reveal their identity on Gourmet but must provide accurate and up-to-date information that may include personal data.
vi. The User may not assume identities other than their own and may not create accounts for other people without their explicit authorization.
vii. The User may not act unlawfully, deceptively, fraudulently, or for purposes contrary to the law or unauthorized.
viii. The User may not violate (or assist or encourage others to violate) these Terms of Service.
ix. The User may not engage in behaviors intended to interfere with or impair the proper functioning of the platform; this includes misuse of reporting, dispute, or appeal channels (e.g., fraudulent or unfounded reports).
x. The User may not attempt to create accounts or access or collect information in unauthorized ways.
xi. The User may not sell, license, or purchase accounts or data obtained from Gourmet.
xii. The User may not publish private or confidential information of another person without authorization or perform any action that violates third-party rights, including intellectual property rights.
The User declares to be the owner or to have obtained all necessary rights in relation to the contents they publish and confirms to be solely responsible for the contents they post.
9. Disclaimer of Liability
Gourmet assumes no liability towards third parties for the content published by the User within the App and provides no guarantee regarding recipes, reviews, and, more generally, the content published, stored, or uploaded by the User on the platform in case of damages and/or in the event of errors, defamation, insults, slander, omissions, false statements, obscene language.
Acting as an interactive service provider, Gourmet, although not obliged to verify, analyze, remove, modify, or monitor content posted by Users, reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to verify, analyze, translate, or modify without notice any content published or stored on the App at any time or for any reason, or to allow such operations to third parties on its behalf.
Opinions and comments expressed by users do not represent the opinions of Gourmet.
10. Unilateral Changes to These Terms
Gourmet reserves the right, at its sole discretion, at any time and without notice, to review or modify, in whole or in part, these Terms and any Additional Terms for technical reasons, regulatory compliance, or also in case of reorganization of the application.
Registered Users accept these Terms in their current version. Any revision or modification of the Terms will be promptly communicated on the App.
The User agrees that continuing to use the App after the publication of a modified version of the Terms constitutes acceptance of that version.
11. Duration and Termination
The User has the right to access and use the services offered on the App at any time and for any reason without incurring any liability, provided that this is done in compliance with these Terms.
Should the User decide to delete their profile, all rights granted herein to the User will immediately cease.
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms for the User are governed by Italian law, which applies to all relationships between Gourmet and the App Users.
Any dispute, legal action, or other issue arising from or related to the use of the App shall be subject to Italian law without application of private international law principles.
