Ingredients
- Prawns1 Kg
- Tempura flour200 g
- Water1 cup
- Fine saltto taste
- Vegetable oilto taste
- Lemonto taste
Procedure
0. Heat plenty of vegetable oil in a deep pan until it reaches a temperature of about 170-180°C
1. Meanwhile, prepare the tempura batter. In a large bowl, mix the tempura flour with the cold water until you get a smooth batter. Don't overmix; a few lumps are fine.
2. Gently dip the shrimp tails into the tempura batter, making sure to coat them evenly.
3. Once the oil is hot, fry the shrimp in small batches to avoid lowering the oil temperature too much. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes, or until golden and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove the shrimp from the pan and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
4. Repeat the process with the remaining shrimp. Season with salt, if necessary, and serve the tempura shrimp hot, perhaps accompanied with lemon wedges.
5. Enjoy your delicious tempura shrimp as an appetizer or as a main course accompanied by rice and vegetables.
