  • 0. Making the buns: Dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until it begins to foam. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the yeast and water mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms.
  • 1. Add the softened butter and continue kneading until the dough becomes elastic. Let the dough rise in a warm place, covered with a damp cloth, for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  • 2. After rising, divide the dough into 4 equal portions, shape into balls, and flatten them slightly. Let rise again for about 30 minutes. Brush the rolls with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • 3. Making the burgers: Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions. Shape into patties and then flatten them to form a burger slightly larger than the buns.
  • 4. Heat a pan or grill and cook the burgers for 3-4 minutes per side. Season with salt and pepper as they cook. In the last few minutes of cooking, add a slice of cheese to each burger to melt it.
  • 5. Assembly: Cut the buns in half and lightly toast them on the inside. Start with a lettuce base on the bottom of the bun, followed by a burger patty with cheese, then another layer of lettuce, the second burger patty with cheese, and the tomato and cucumber slices. Add sauces of your choice and top with the other bun half.
