- Type 00 flour350 g
- Brown sugar175 g
- Butter125 g
- Honey4 tablespoons
- Ginger2 teaspoons
- Eggs1 u (60 g)
- Baking soda1 teaspoon
- Ground cinnamon1 teaspoon
- Clovesto taste
- Fine saltto taste
Procedure
0. In a bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. In another large bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar until creamy. Add the egg and molasses, and continue beating until smooth.
1. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing until a smooth dough forms. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
2. Preheat the oven to 180°C and line baking sheets with parchment paper. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface until it's about 0.5 cm thick. Use Christmas cookie cutters (such as trees, stars, bells, etc.) to cut out the cookies and transfer them to the prepared baking sheets.
3. Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are just starting to brown. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
