  • 0. Preheat oven to 180°C. Line a square baking pan (about 20x20 cm) with baking paper.
  • 1. In a small saucepan over a bain-marie, melt the dark chocolate and butter, stirring until smooth. Let cool.
  • 2. In a bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract.
  • 3. Gently fold the melted chocolate mixture into the beaten eggs. Add the sifted flour and a pinch of salt, mixing until smooth.
  • 4. Pour half the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle half the crushed amaretti biscuits over the batter. Cover with the remaining batter and top with the remaining amaretti biscuits.
  • 5. Bake for about 25-30 minutes. The brownies should be cooked through on the edges but still slightly moist in the center. Check with a toothpick: it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  • 6. Let cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, cut the brownies into squares and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
