Pastel brasiliani croccanti e ripieni di gusto, un classico street food brasiliano facile da preparare, ideale per uno spuntino saporito e sfizioso!

  • 0. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the egg, oil, and cachaça (vinegar works well as an alternative) and mix well. Gradually add the warm water, kneading until the dough becomes smooth and elastic. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.
  • 1. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Dice all the vegetables. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until golden. Add the ground beef and cook until well browned. Add the peppers, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  • 2. Cook until the peppers are tender. Remove from the heat and add the chopped parsley (if using). Let the filling cool.
  • 3. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface until it's about 2-3 mm thick. Cut the dough into 10-12 cm squares. Place a spoonful of filling on one side of the dough square. Add grated cheese, if desired.
  • 4. Fold the dough in half to form a triangle or rectangle, pressing the edges to seal. Use a fork to press the edges together and make sure they're sealed.
  • 5. Heat plenty of vegetable oil in a deep pan or deep fryer to about 180°C. Fry the patties, a few at a time, until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
