Ingredients
- Beef topside200 g
- Sushi rice150 g
- Semi-skimmed milk100 ml
- Garlic2 cloves
- Carrots2 u (150 g)
- Butter1 tablespoon
- Golden onion1 u (150 g)
- Curry1 teaspoon
- Zucchini1 u (200 g)
- Turmeric1 teaspoon
- Vegetable oilto taste
Procedure
0. Cut the zucchini and carrots into thin sticks. Slice the onion and finely chop the garlic.
1. Cut the beef slices into thin strips. Heat the oil in a large skillet and sauté the beef for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Remove and set aside. In the same skillet, add the onion and garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Add the carrots and zucchini and cook for 5 minutes, stirring.
2. In a bowl, dissolve the curry powder and turmeric in 50 ml of hot water, mixing well.
3. Add the melted spice mix to the vegetables and stir. Pour in the milk. Add the butter and stir until melted. Return the beef to the pan and cook for another 5-7 minutes over medium heat, until the sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice in a pot with double the volume of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat, cover, and cook for about 12 minutes. Let it rest for another 10 minutes with the lid on.
5. Serve the beef curry with zucchini and carrots with cooked Japanese rice.
